Horsley Woodhouse Primary School

Forest School

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.

It is a holistic learning process, with children being given the freedom to explore their surroundings through a theme or activity led by the Forest school leader, Mr. Marriot.

Forest Schools has a proven record of increasing children’s confidence, self-esteem and sense of well-being. This has also proven to have increased concentration and attainment in the classroom setting.

Our Forest School sessions take place in the copse located in our school grounds and utilise the outdoor cabin built specifically for Forest School by Mr. Marriot himself.
